Top 5 reasons to attend the 2017 Missions and Marketplace Conference

Top 5 reasons to attend the 2017 Missions and Marketplace Conference

1. You want to grow and expand your business/ministry — Conference founder and host, Dr. Bill Winston, says we are all born with much more potential and for a much greater purpose than where we are right now. With an expected attendance of over 2,500 people, the 2017 Missions and Marketplace Conference brings together some of the world’s most dynamic ministry leaders, business executives and entrepreneurs for a powerful exchange of ideas and information that is designed to move you forward. The conference includes a Career Fair, Business Expo, Workshop sessions and Main sessions. “This conference is the right place for every attendee to receive the empowerment they need to take them to the top of their industry and transform it,” Dr. Winston says.

2. You want to start a business/ministry — The conference draws marketplace and ministry leaders from every sphere of society: business, government, media, arts and entertainment, education, family and religion. Two of the conference sponsors provide resources and expertise to help you in the marketplace. The first is The Joseph Business School (JBS), a world class institution that equips entrepreneurs and individuals using practical and biblical principles to raise up companies and create wealth to transform desolate places into flourishing communities for the glory of God. And the second is the JBS Small Business Development Center (SBDC) which helps new entrepreneurs realize the dream of successful business ownership. Several conference workshops could also be of great benefit, including Start-up to Scale Up: Non-traditional Fundraising for Entrepreneurs and Ministry Leaders.

3. You want to be a better leader — The Missions and Marketplace Conference consistently draws A-list international leaders from a broad spectrum of society. This year you’ll hear from renowned speakers who are industry leaders, including Pastor Craig Groeschel of Life Church, Dr. Deidre Anderson of Women Empowered and award-winning Gospel singer Micah Stampley, among others. Click here to see a full list of speakers. Many of the speakers will also lead workshops, which you can see by clicking here. Attendees will hear personal insights and experiences from these leaders that they can apply to their own journey.

4. You want to grow your finances and financial knowledge — Education and empowerment are core foundations of the conference. Speakers will share wisdom and practical tips to help you grow in this area and challenge and inspire you to new heights. The Business Opportunity Expo is one event at the conference that will help you grow revenue and support business expansion. Attendees will have a chance to speak face-to-face with leaders from companies, government agencies and service providers.

5. You want to be around other people who are pursuing their purpose and passions — since its inception over 15 years ago, the conference has strived to bring elite speakers with a proven track record in the marketplace and ministry to inspire and teach others to be successful. The conference fosters an exchange of challenges, ideas, trends and best practices so that we can all draw closer to God’s grand design for each of us. “God had to place Joseph in the right environment to trigger the anointing that brought forth, through him, the most powerful economy of his day,” Dr. Winston says. “The same will be said about this conference. Through much prayer and planning, this conference will be the right place for every attendee to receive the empowerment they need to take them to the top of their industry… and transform it.”

The Ministry of Entrepreneurship

The Ministry of Entrepreneurship

Economic innovation is a major way to provide capital to advance the kingdom of God. Let’s take entrepreneurship as an example. The “ministry” of an entrepreneur is to find a cure (healing) for the business world the same way a physician is trained to heal the body. They are apostles of healing, both meeting the needs of humanity through good gifts and services. And this ministry gift of the entrepreneur needs to be understood and embraced by the priests.

Business and entrepreneurship (as well as any marketplace ministry) is a God-given calling, the same as pastoring a church. Entrepreneurs, through their gifts and passion, tap into their creative capacity to create new products and services that bring solutions to make life more enjoyable, improve health, and harness the earth’s natural resources and more. They expand the “economic pie” by creating new markets and opportunities, instead of fighting with competitors over the same slice. CREATIVITY AND INNOVATION ARE DIVINE EXPRESSIONS OF GOD.
We are made in the image of God, the Creator: “So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them,” (Genesis 1: 27). As one author wrote, “The entrepreneur’s creativity is akin to God’s creative ability in the first chapter of Genesis. In this sense, the entrepreneur participates in the original cultural mandate to replenish and subdue the earth that God gave to Adam and Eve.” The creative power (ability) that created all matter is “THE BLESSING.”

Creativity and innovation are divine expressions of God and should be encouraged, not stifled or rejected.

The Kings and Priests Concept

The Kings and Priests Concept

What is the concept of “kings and priests?” It’s a reuniting of the biblical “dream team” of the prophet and the king. Today, that’s the pulpit and the pew — clergy and laymen — working together for the good of the kingdom. Both kings and priests are anointed by God to win every battle and, by faith, literally transform the worst places on Earth into a garden of Eden. Looking back in biblical history, to ensure the continued success of a nation, every Abraham needed a Melchizedek; every King David needed a prophet Nathan; every Pharaoh needed a Joseph (a seer) and in the history of the United States Armed Forces every General Patton needed the prayer of his army chaplain. To solve the problems we face today, which are more than physical, we need the return of this divinely created unbeatable team.

Through the reintroduction of faith into the marketplace and the partnership of kings and priests, our societies will not only be preserved but transformed to reflect the peace and prosperity God originally planned…“ Thy kingdom come thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven.”
Mark Twain, the famous American writer, said, “The two most important days in your life are the day you are born, and the day you find out why.” Prayerfully, this book will help you discover your purpose here on Earth and the role you are to play as a king or priest in restoring faith to the marketplace once again.

So, whether you are called to the pulpit or the pew, you have a calling. You are no longer ordinary. And you are born with much more potential and for a greater work than where you are right now. Like the Elijahs or Esthers, who decided the destinies of nations, the fulfillment of your kingdom assignment is extremely important. As a clergyman or on the city council, as an educator or evangelist, as an economic rainmaker or homemaker, or a missionary, you are anointed to render exceptional service. And through this divine partnership of kings and priests and, of course, Almighty God, you can effectively change the destiny of millions, if not billions, in cities and countries all over the world.
